How to Make Beef Gnocchi Shepherd's Pie
  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and diced carrots, sautéing until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Increase the heat to medium-high, add the ground beef, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat, if needed.
  3. Stir in frozen peas, beef broth, salt, pepper, and optional herbs. Simmer until thickened, about 7-10 minutes.
  4. If using store-bought mashed potatoes, warm them up. Spread half in a greased baking dish.
  5. Spoon the beef mixture over the first layer of mashed potatoes. Top with remaining mashed potatoes.
