  • 1 cup warm milk 110°F
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Glaze
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking dish
  • Oven

Method

Making the Rolls
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add in the melted butter and eggs, then gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
  2. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it for 5-7 minutes until it's smooth and elastic. The dough should feel slightly tacky but should not stick to your fingers.
  3. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Cover it with a cloth and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  4. While the dough is rising, mash the blackberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice in a separate bowl.
  5. Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a large rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the blackberry mixture evenly over the dough, then roll it tightly from one edge to the other, forming a log.
  6. Cut the log into 1-inch pieces and arrange them in a greased baking dish. Allow them to rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until they're golden brown and fragrant.
  7. Optional: Drizzle with extra glaze for an added touch of sweetness.
