How to Make Caramelized Onion Pasta
  1. In a large skillet, warm the extra virgin olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced yellow onions to the pan. Cook them slowly, stirring occasionally, until they become soft and golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. In a separate pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add your spaghetti or fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
  5. In the skillet with the caramelized onion and garlic, add the drained pasta. Drizzle generously with chili oil and gently toss to coat.
  6. Spoon your Caramelized Onion Pasta onto plates and finish with a lavish sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese and a final drizzle of chili oil.
