How to Make Cheese Bread
- In a bowl, mix warm water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Create a well in the center.
- Pour activated yeast mixture and olive oil into the well, stirring gently until just combined.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Fold in shredded cheese and optional herbs until evenly distributed.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Shape the risen dough into a loaf or rolls, place on a baking sheet, and bake for 25-30 minutes.
