  • 1 cup Orzo pasta a small pasta shape that cooks quickly
For the Main Dish
  • 1 lb Chicken sausage lean and flavorful
  • 2 cups Fresh broccoli florets bright green for best texture
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil for sautéing
For Serving
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • to taste Salt to balance flavors
  • to taste Pepper to balance flavors

Method
 

Directions
  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping the broccoli into bite-sized florets and slicing the chicken sausage.
  2. Cook the orzo in boiling salted water for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and reserve some pasta water.
  3. Sauté garlic in a large skillet with olive oil over medium heat until fragrant, then add the chicken sausage slices until browned.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes until they are bright green but still crisp.
  5. Combine the cooked orzo and grated Parmesan cheese in the skillet, mixing well. Use the reserved pasta water as needed.
  6. Serve the dish immediately, garnishing with extra Parmesan if desired.
