- Prepare the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Place them evenly at the bottom of the crock pot.
- Layer the Mushrooms: Transfer the sautéed mushroom mixture over the seasoned chicken, ensuring even distribution.
- Add Liquids: Pour low-sodium chicken broth and Marsala wine into the crock pot. Stir gently to combine.
- Slow Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 4 hours.
- Finish the Sauce: About 10 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream (or half-and-half) into the crock pot.
