Method
 

Instructions
  1. Drain the firm tofu and press it between paper towels for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  3. Toss the cubed tofu in cornstarch until well-coated.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the tofu cubes in batches for 3–5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer fried cubes to paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  7. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, garlic powder, honey (or maple syrup), and sesame oil.
  8. Drizzle the savory-sweet mix over the fried tofu just before serving.
