  • 1 cup Shredded Gruyère cheese Melts beautifully.

Method
 

How to Make French Onion Soup Pasta
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
  2. Add 3 medium sliced sweet yellow onions. Sauté for about 20 minutes until they are soft and caramelized.
  3. Toss in 2 minced garlic cloves and 2 teaspoons of fresh thyme. Cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in 4 cups of low-sodium beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. In a separate pot, cook 8 oz of fettuccine or penne pasta until al dente. Drain without rinsing.
  6. Gently fold the cooked pasta into the onion mixture in the skillet.
  7. Top the pasta with 1 cup of shredded Gruyère cheese. Cover the skillet briefly to melt the cheese.
