Making the Galette
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Combine the flour and 2 tablespoons of sugar in a bowl. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add cold water gradually, stirring until the dough holds together. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface into a heart shape, about 1/4-inch thick.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Layer the sliced strawberries in the center and sprinkle the remaining sugar on top.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the strawberries, leaving the center open.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and strawberries are bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving, and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
