Method

How to Make Hibachi Steak Bowls
  1. Prep Your Ingredients: Slice your steak thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness. Chop bell peppers, zucchini, and mushrooms into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Cook the Rice: In a medium pot, combine the rice with water using a ratio of 2 cups of rice to 4 cups of water. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until fluffy—about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Sear the Steak: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of oil. Toss in the steak strips and sear until browned, around 3-4 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry Veggies: Using the same skillet, add more oil if necessary. Stir-fry the chopped veggies until they become tender-crisp, which should take about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Create Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Pour this mixture over the seared steak and sautéed veggies, tossing everything gently.
  6. Assemble Bowls: Scoop the fluffy rice into bowls, and top with the flavorful steak and vegetable mixture. Serve immediately for a delightful meal!
