  • 1 large Egg A flax egg works well for a vegan alternative.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Roasted garlic can enhance sweetness.
For the Sauce
  • 1 can San Marzano tomatoes Canned crushed tomatoes can be a substitute.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method
 

How to Make Italian Meatballs
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them snugly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Heat the San Marzano tomatoes in a medium saucepan over medium heat and add minced garlic and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Once the meatballs are done baking, gently add them to the simmering sauce and let soak for five minutes before serving.
