  • 1 lb lean ground beef substitute with ground turkey or plant-based alternative
  • 24 oz marinara sauce jarred or homemade
  • 8 oz cream cheese consider flavored cream cheese for extra creaminess
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese fresh mozzarella will melt beautifully
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese finely grated for depth
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning a homemade blend infuses more flavor

Method
 

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain the excess fat.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, and let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with the cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti mixture, followed by half of the meat sauce and half of the mozzarella. Repeat the layering.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
