  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs use Italian seasoned for extra flavor
  • 4 oz Fresh mozzarella cheese cut into cubes
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan cheese adds nutty richness
  • 1 Large egg acts as a binder
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Sauce
  • 28 oz Canned crushed tomatoes good quality for best flavor
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning brings warmth and aromatic herbs

Method
 

How to Make Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into golf ball-sized portions, flattening each ball slightly to place a mozzarella cube in the center and then wrap the meat around it.
  4. Simmer crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning in a saucepan over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Bake the meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet for about 20 minutes, or until un internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  6. Serve the warm meatballs with a generous drizzle of the sauce on top.
