  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Large eggs at room temperature
  • ½ cup Melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract pure is best
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint extract adjust to taste
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate
For the Frosting
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar sifted
  • 2 tablespoons Milk add more for a pourable glaze

Method
 

Making the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a baking pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract in another bowl until smooth.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips gently.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. For the Frosting: Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
  7. Gradually add milk until you reach a smooth consistency, perfect for spreading.
  8. Once cooled, spread the frosting over the baked bars and cut into squares.
