How to Make Puff Pastry Chocolate Hearts
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry until it’s about an eighth-inch thick.
  3. Place half of the heart shapes on a lined baking sheet. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate chips onto each heart.
  4. Top each filled heart with another pastry cutout and press down the edges to seal completely.
  5. Whisk the egg until smooth and brush it over each heart. Sprinkle granulated sugar on top.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
