  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries ripe, sliced
For the Topping
  • 1 cup whipped cream homemade preferred
  • 1/2 cup chocolate ganache made with equal parts chocolate and cream
  • 1 cup more fresh strawberries for garnish

How to Make Valentine Chocolate Strawberry Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line two round cake pans with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the milk.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in half of the sliced strawberries.
  5. Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
